Individual/Personal Pension Plan

For Business Owners or Designated Employees

  A tax efficient method of transferring assets from your company to pay you in your retirement.

Who Qualifies?

  • Connected Individuals (owning >10% of shares)
  • Best suited for ages 45 or older, and still 4-5 years from retirement
  • Annual income on T4 of at least $75,000 most years
  • Employed at least 10 years (to maximize "buy-back" opportunities)

Advantages of I/PPP

  • Income at retirement may be up to 30% more than if you maximized your RRSP
  • Tax deduction for the company (including paying for all associated fees)
  • Significant tax savings through tax deferral
  • Assets in the I/PPP are usually creditor-proof
  • Predictable retirement income 

IPP vs PPP
